No 1133 27 May - 9 June 2005

The person who got the story was Sun reporter Clodagh Hartley. It was a "ring in": she happened to answer the phone when a punter who was involved in printing the report called the newsdesk. She duly went to see the caller, who had a copy of the document, but was then told by her bosses to read its conclusions over the phone to Kavanagh, as they felt his name would give the scoop greater credibility. Kavanagh collected a British Press Award; Hartley's only reward was no longer having to work night shifts.
